AR/VR Hackathon is event for people interested in augmented and virtual reality technology, who wishes to experiment and execute their idea using these technologies. Event goal is to gather people with different background and experiences to work together in teams and create disruptive and inspiring products/solutions.

Participants do not have to be experienced in AR/VR, most importantly is will to learn and work on idea execution/problem solving. We invite to participate developers, 3D artists, designers, visionaries who would be ready to push forward and develop their ideas or to join another team with idea. If you already have a team and idea, you can apply with your own team, but if you do not have a team, we will help you form one.

Hardware

During event participants will be able to get hands on and work with technology that is not very easily accessible – Google Tango (lenovo Phab 2 Pro), Microsoft Hololens, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear, Xbox Kinect for Windows and other.

Mentoring

Epicenter of AR/VR technology development is located in Seattle, US, so you will have an opportunity to work with very respected and experienced moderator/mentor in AR/VR industry Trond Nilsen from Seattle, US. Also there will be other mentors from many different areas of business who are working on augmented reality and virtual reality on day to day basis. Organizations like Overly, Anatomy next, Accenture and others along with a professor from Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences.

Practical information

AR/VR Hackathon is one week long high intensity augmented and virtual reality hackathon, during which it is possible to create new products, services and execute other ideas that can eventually become new startups. Event is going to take place in Valmiera, Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences. All participants will have an area where to work and a place to lie down if needed. During event food, soft drinks and a bit of sport activities will be provided by event organizers.  It is advised that you take with you your own computer and stuff you need to work, but if you do not have a computer, we will provide you one – please let as know in advance.
